A Tale of Two Academies…
They said we would never witness evolution, it happens too slowly.
They were wrong.
For decades, perhaps even longer, individuals have been born, and over time shown remarkable abilities like nothing the world has ever seen before. These people, gifted with strange and often dangerous abilities, are known as mutants.
There were some mutants in a position to find others of their kind. However, those same mutants were also in a position to know that humanity was not ready for such people.
Two schools have been founded by these mutants: Massachusetts Academy, headed by Emma Frost, and Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, headed by Charles Xavier and Eric Lensherr. Both schools pass as normal boarding schools, while they do much more: teach young mutants how to control and use their powers.
Even though secret intentions are behind both schools, both schools do have mutant interests at heart. There, the mutants are safe, they have sanctuary. But that may soon end, as the government is aware of mutants. Behind closed doors, ideas are exchanged and a rogue cell of S.H.I.E.L.D. has its mind set on destroying the problem before it ever starts…
