As of now I'm adding in a new system to the site that allows Factions who have lost the Space Battle but still have a planet Captured to continue to defend the surface of the planet. The following are a list of both Rebellion and Imperial Private Units and Soldiers who can be purchased by anyone in order to accomplish a goal. Imperials obviously will be limited to the Imperial Section, however anyone can buy from the Rebellion as it's considered "Mercenary."
The way the system will work is going to be in essence like a standard poker game. If you have 1,000 units of resistance and the person you're attacking as 700 and they choose to fight they'll start off an RP with 700 units and you with 1,000. They can hold off the entire fight as long as they want to hope for help to arrive and back them up, or in vise versa they can choose not to fight at all, however I'll explain that later. The fight ends when one side surrenders or is completely destroyed. During posts each side will make a post and at the end of the post they will count post the number of enemy units killed by their side (limit to 100 unless another strategy is used such as orbital bombardment or they can provide a valid reason that they should be able to claim more lives. However if someone complains that they don't think they should have lost as many units as you said they did then the Admins will check and we'll either lower it if they're right, or raise it for wasting our time if it was wrong. This is to keep it fair for everyone.)
Now if the enemy decides not to defend but go into hiding, they don't lose any men and you capture the planet. However these rebels didn't just disappear and you'll have to come up with a strategy of rooting enemies out and killing them or you'll have to risk an uprising from Gurellia Insurgence.

On popular demand Fortified status will now allow a person on a Fortified planet to recruit units 5% cheaper than usual, it also allows them to design the maps they fight on and set up defenses in advanced in case of an enemy strike being detected or halted.
Units are as following:
Artillery: 70,000 Credits. Adds 10 Artillery Units that can fire on Ships, Units, or Tanks. Adds "Bombardment" which once every three posts on certain parts of the map to hopefully destroy enemies. However bad aim can result in friendly casualties.
Orbital Bombardment: 10,000 Credits Per use, requires a Capital Ship. Bombards a section of the map in combat. The way this is done is the user (person who is using the bombardment) chooses a letter from the map (A-F) and rolls a dice. The Dice will come up as 1-6. Say for instance the user chooses C and rolls 3. They can hit three squares in the C section, or focus in on one square and do mass damage. *note if someone rolls a 6 and chooses to focus in on a section they automatically kill every NPC in that section. Players have the ability to try to escape, get killed, or somehow if they can survive.
Surprise Shots: 500,000 Credits, only usable on first post. Allows a Capital Ship to fire a Surprise Shot down on a planet's shields (if they're not already up) destroying them.
Orbital Security System: 2,000,000 Credits, a Secret Security System controlled from planet side. If an enemy ship gets in too close and tries to retreat while the system is activated it creates an energy field and instantly destroys the ships causing mass casualties and usually killing everyone on board. + 2000 Planetary Resistance
Shielding System: 300,000 Credits, Powered by Shield Generators and can offset Artillery, Orbital Bombardments, and Surprise Shots if activated before the shots are fired. +100 Planetary Resistance
Clone Veterans: 2,000 Credits per 100 Units. Veterans from the Clone Wars. 1.5X Damage whenever these guys are deployed +200 Planetary Resistance
Storm Troopers: 1,000, Credits per 200 Units. Often called "Shinies" by the Veterans. These troopers have yet to experience battle and though they're trained to get the job done they lose a lot of men often. +50 Planetary Resistance
Clone Commandos: 3,000 Credits per 50 Units. These elite shock troopers do 2X The damage of the normal Storm Troopers and do bonus damage against tanks and artillery. (2 X Normal Damage + the ability to destroy 2 Tanks/Artillery a post for every 10 Commandos) +300 Planetary Resistance
Clone Medics: 2,000 Credits per 100. Valuable Medics who can bring back 50 units a post due to their medical training. +50 Planetary Resistance
AT-ST: 20,000 credits per unit. Anti-Unit Tanks designed for destroying Infantry. 3X Damage. +350 Planetary Resistance
AT-AT: 50,000 Credits Per Unit. Strong heavily defended Troop Transport. Packs serious firepower and deploys an extra 10 units a post. +400 Planetary Resistance
Freedom Fighters: 2,000 Credits per 100 Units. Soldiers who are prepared to fight and die to restore democracy. Due to their passion they fight long and hard. 1.5X Damage when these guys are deployed. +200 Planetary Resistance
Rebels: 1,000 Credits per 200 Units. These guys don't like the Empire, but they're not the best fighters around. There are a lot of them though. +50 Planetary Resistance
Mandalorians: 3,000 per 50 units. Brutal Warriors who do extreme amounts of damage when deployed and do bonus damage against tanks and artillery. (2 X Normal Damage + the ability to destroy 2 Tanks/Artillery a post for every 10 Mandalorians). +300 Planetary Resistance
Doctors: 2,000 per 100 units. Doctors who have abandoned their desk jobs for the future of others. While not the strongest in a fight they can heal the wounded. For every turn their deployed they bring back 10 units. +50 Planetary Resistance
AT-RT: 20,000 Credits per unit. Fast Mobile anti-infantry scouts who served as the origins for the AT-ST. +350 Planetary Resistance

*note these armies are only usable if the planet of Raxus Prime or Mustifar are controlled. Droids cost less than the other units but are significantly weaker, however you only have to pay a quarter of the normal price for them if you control Both Mustifar and Raxus Prime.

AAT: 20,000 Credits per unit. These Tanks are just general purpose tanks designed to blow things up. +200 Planetary Resistance
Vulture Droid: 20,000 Credits for Five. These droids are made to be fighters of the CIS. They aren't strong on the ground, however they can be dangerous mid flight due to their lack of need for a human pilot.
Please note that if your planet reaches 3000 Planetary Resistance you'll be considered fortified and have to do battle unless you choose to surrender and we'll just subtract whatever your Units were from the Imperial Units and whatever the difference is will be considered survivors.
