Personality: As a person of power, Astren is capable of, like many persons, putting on a very “regal” front when she needs to. She portrays herself as just and fair, but with no mercy for those guilty of crimes against her people and all the sympathy in the world for those who have suffered, especially when she is unable (and usually, this only means that they aren't high on her list of priorities) to give them assistance. She projects the appropriate collected air that she believes leader should have.
Behind closed doors, Astren is much a different person. She's impatient and prone to violence when she gets frustrated. Probably one of the things that makes her dangerous is how easily she switches between the two personae. Calm, collected, almost motherly and then violent and merciless in a matter of seconds. On one occasion when one of her subordinates fails to follow orders or otherwise makes a mess of their duties, she may offer words of condolence, fix things as is within her capabilities, and have them try again. Under the same circumstances at any other moment, she's pretty much just as likely to have your brains, eyes, and vital organs transplanted into a droid- Grievous style. Maybe she'll spare you, but she'll find the person- or persons- you love most and throw them into one of many potential prisons to rot for the rest of eternity. Sell your sister and your mom as slaves to whomever seems shadiest. She'll go save them later, of course, even make a big deal out of it to the public, but only if you can- “learn to do your job.” And impress her, of course. It can be, for someone who isn't force-sensitive, hard to tell when she's going to brush off irritants and when she's going to react. Astren is, for lack of a better description, the type to smile both when commending and punishing a person.
While she is a higher-up and usually useful behind the scenes, delivering orders from a desk, she has taken certain matters into her own hands before. She may involve herself in interrogations, for instance, if it isn't going well. She very rarely involves herself in combat of any kind, though she does consider herself plenty able to handle herself in one. It's also worth noting that she likes animals more than she likes people.
Power seems to be her only goal. Take everything and give nothing back. The more people she has asking her permission, the happier she is and she's most certainly not one to play games when it comes to power. If one of her subordinates opposes her then they haven't learned what it means to be in their position nor what it means for her to be in hers and they no longer deserve to live.
Unique Characteristics: Both her hair and her skin is white- as in, white white. Not just pale, but white. Astren also has black feathered wings.

Character Bio: Astren was born on Milieus Prime, one of the moons circling the planet Iego under a different name and to different people than those she lived with. Early in life, her parents were forced from the moons of Iego and then Iego itself along with many other Diathims. Before very long, she was separated from them.
Before long, she ended up on Coruscant and in the care of Orpheus Daniel Chevalier- a Jedi master who had lost his wife and children many years earlier. He changed her name- probably for sentimental means rather than practical ones- and taught her everything he knew.
Years passed, and Astren grew from a child into an adult- meanwhile picking up a servant girl by the name of Correntte- and eventually moved back to Iego where she resided for several years by herself. As time passed, she trained herself and grew to be far more skilled than she previously had been, learning new abilities while away from her master. More time passed and through other, more complicated means, Astren grew interested in the Dark Side of the Force and by extension, the political world at large. She worked hard, becoming a well-known figure on many different planets. Though she wasn't as famous as either Palpatine or Vader in either community, her name was one people knew, even if the people didn't know who she was or what she was doing.
Her opportunity arose with the death of Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader. Without a Sith Lord and without an Emperor, thing were left in what looked an awful lot like chaos from her standpoint. Despite the fact that reason would dictate she play dirty, Astren was elected Empress by traditional, fair means.
Becoming Lord of the Sith wasn't so easy. She either cut down opponents or made it painfully evident that she was able to. Becoming Empress really only pushed her role in the Sith to its highest possible point and allowed her to become Lady of the Sith. Perhaps it's ironic, but she did search for Jedi Master Chevalier when the slaughter of Jedi began. Even now, he hasn't turned up and is currently labeled as “missing.” Whether or not a reunion would be happy isn't clear, though it is doubtful.
